We are looking for a concept artist to fill a volunteer (non-paid) position. The artist needs to have a good understanding of animal anatomy and physiology, and be able to reflect this in their work. The artist needs to be at least 18 years of age in order to sign a non-disclosure agreement. The only personal information they will need is their full name on the NDA, and contact information such as their email address. Talon Entertainment guarantees that personal information WILL NOT be shared with third parties. Skype is needed for communication with the development team. It may be requested of the artist to use voice chat and share their computer screen during some development sessions. Anyone interested should be directed to contact Talon Entertainment. My name is Rick Charles and I am the speculative biology consultant for Talon Entertainment. Any applicants will be interviewed and their work reviewed. When we make a final decision, we will let the applicant know whether they have been accepted or not. It will be a strictly objective process. Our considerations of any applicants will be based solely on their understanding of animal anatomy and physiology, their artistic skill and style, and their professional attitude. There seems to have been a misunderstanding concerning the non-disclosure agreement. Due to this being a volunteer position, we certainly do not intend to bound anyone to a "work contract". We would appreciate it if in the announcement it was explained that our non-disclosure agreement only serves to protect our intellectual property from theft, a solid promise by anyone who signs it that they will not leak or steal any information about the project. Signing our non-disclosure agreement would NOT bound them to a long-term arrangement that would harvest their resources without credit and some form of compensation. I think this is a misunderstood aspect of our volunteer position that is deterring a lot of potential applicants.

On behalf of Talon Entertainment, I would like to address the accumulation of concerns about this volunteer position. Foremost, I want to clarify that neither Creature Concepts nor its founder ErothBlackDragon are in any way affiliated or associated with Talon Entertainment. Creature Concepts merely agreed to announce our volunteer position. I feel this is necessary to clarify because much of the negative feedback seems to be directed at them instead of Talon Entertainment. That being said, I am coming to our own defense.
~Some of you have noted that the website seems cheap and unprofessional, seemingly reflecting the nature of the company. While I understand this concern, I can say that the website is certainly not a reflection of the company or what we are capable of as a team effort. The website is a placeholder created by one person—one person—with no help, little training, and little time. The only reason the website has not been updated to better reflect our company is because in light of the efforts we are putting into the development of our debut project, redesigning the website is extremely low on the to-do list.
~This volunteer position does not warrant polished final concepts. At this stage in our project's development, we are merely concerned with rough designs that most certainly do not require the full extent of an artist's personal resources.
~We would give all credit where it is due, regardless of the nature of the position. Being a volunteer position to no degree implies that the artist will not receive appropriate credit for their work.
~While I understand the lack of faith in promises, Talon Entertainment guarantees that financial compensation will be given to all project developers and assistants for their services, once we have an established budget. At this stage in our project's development, we do not have a budget or financial resources to establish one until we are father along in development to warrant some form of funding, which is why we need willing teammates to help push each other towards this common goal.
~Talon Entertainment needs help. This is a call for help. This is not a forced event, a work contract, or slave labor. The intention of this volunteer position is for a willing artist to provide good-natured service and be part of a team effort to create something big. Even being as stringent as we are about non-disclosure at the moment, this is merely a VOLUNTEER position, not a conscription.
~Big companies can throw money around and stimulate artists' egos. Talon Entertainment is not a big company. Especially for many budding artists, no one can expect to start big. Artists need stepping stones to establish themselves as professionals, and we as a company want to provide stepping stones for budding artists such as yourselves, as we ourselves are a budding company that needs an interdependent team structure to build upon for both our benefit and yours.
On behalf of Talon Entertainment, I apologize for the eruption of negativity this announcement has induced, but we ask that a professional attitude be maintained towards us and Creature Concepts.
